It’s simple math
What is a community to do when 3,000+ housing units are currently needed in its borders?
One by one, or even two by two, would cost generations of time.
Our region and its residents deserve real change now.
This initiative will bring the numbers on our side.
The PHC and its partners aim to construct 100 new houses in Pontiac over the next 3 to 5 years utilizing vacant residential lots across the city. These houses will be sold to qualified buyers, Pontiac residents and non-residents, earning up to 120% of the area median income as defined by HUD.
These homes will fill the ever-growing gap of missing housing types in Pontiac, including a mixture of one and two-story (min. 1,200 sq. ft.) with multiple floorplan designs to fit the buyer’s needs.
THE PROCESS

Pontiac residents and non-residents earning up to 120% of the area median income will be able to apply online to become homeowners. The Pontiac Housing Commission is the facilitator for the program between residents, builders/developers, financial institutions and other partners. The builders and developers will construct quality homes at a pre-determined price. Financial institutions will work directly with PHC, offering mortgage products attainable to the qualified purchaser. A program participant is free to choose their own mortgage lender.

The homes will feature concrete driveways, sheds, covered front porches, front & rear entrances with necessary landings, full kitchen appliances, central heating and air conditioning.
Be The first to know
We are now accepting applications of interest for both Housing Choice Voucher recipients and the general public. Please apply to only one of the surveys below.
The PHC will alert registered individuals and the public once the program is open.
